An Essential Side: Cauli Mash

Why suffer the horrible effects of cholesterol lowering drugs when you can have optimum health through an LCHF diet. There has been a huge increase in the number of people who now get prescribed statins when the simple and safe solution can be achieved through diet. Cut the carbs, get your health back on track!

At times, I find that it helps to have a side that resemble a starchy potato, and cauli mash fits that bill perfectly. Here you can see it used in fish pie or as an accompaniment to a hearty stew.

Its so simple to make

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 25g (1 oz) of butter (or more if you like it really buttery)
  • salt and pepper

Steam the cauliflower for 8-10 minutes in a little water or until tender. Add the butter to your food processor and add the cooked cauliflower a bit at a time, blend until the whole lot resembles mashed potato. Season to taste and you are done!
