Dinner: Banting with Steak, Onions and Mushrooms

The following website is a great resource for anyone on an LCHF diet http://realmealrevolution.com/the-facts .

An LCHF diet is often referred to as “Banting” after the British undertaker William Banting. He was very obese and in 1862 he paid a visit to his doctor, William Harvey, who proposed a radical eating plan that was high in fat but included very few carbohydrates. On this plan, Banting experienced such amazing weight loss that he wrote an open letter to the public, the “Letter on Corpulence”. As more people started following this eating plan to lose weight, they referred to the diet as “Banting”.

Today’s “Banting” dinner is a nice sirloin steak cooked medium in some healthy coconut oil. It’s served with onions, mushrooms also fried in coconut oil with a side of broccoli and asparagus.

Pour a nice glass of red wine and enjoy!
