Flaxseed (or linseed) makes a good alternative to commercial grain based sugary cereal. They contain 29% carbs, but 95% of that amount is fiber which cannot be digested. The net digestible carbs are only 1.5g for every 100g of seeds, making flax seeds a low-carb friendly food. Read more about the health benefits of flaxseed here.
In this picture the seeds are ground in a blender. It’s much better to do this than buy the pre ground seeds which tend to go rancid.
Serve with full fat milk or full fat greek yoghurt and some berries if you wish.
