Nuts are being reported to aid weight loss and improve insulin response, assuming that they are raw and not covered in bad seed oils.
They can at times taste stale directly from the packet. I find that roasting them in the oven improves their taste immeasurably. Add some salt if you like when they are hot to make them a great snacking substitute for crisps.
You will need to experiment with your oven on roasting times, and use a timer, as they can very easily burn.
Whats works for me at 180 deg C:
- Almonds and Brazil nuts 10 minutes
- Hazelnuts 8 minutes
- Pumpkin seeds 5 minutes
- Sunflower seeds 6 minutes
